I say it’s time we go on with our make-up journey. Last week I told you about the Beginners Make-up Class at DallesGo.
What comes after that? Well, if you’d like, you could go directly to the advanced class. But if you are as passionate and as eager to learn as I am, you would certainly want to check out the Intermediate class.
There are no information on the website about this short module, but what I can tell you is that it helps set the knowledge you learned in the first module and makes a smoother transition to what you are about to learn in the advanced section.
I personally really felt it helped – I din’t feel like jumping from basic knowledge like base and color rules to pencil technique and texture mixing and so on.
So, this is when I met my second teacher, Nick Barna.
Who would have thought I would get the change to meed not one, but TWO, amazing persons in such a short time? 🙂 Yes, Nick is also amazing!
Even though he and Narcisa are very different personalities and styles they are both extraordinary at what they do and also great and adorable persons in their everyday lives.
Nick is set on rules and technical knowledge; you first have to KNOW the rules in order to later break them for creative or artistic purposes. I really love how he explains everything so simple and easy they don’t actually feel like rules anymore.
Here, in Nick’s class is where you start challenging yourself but also where you start believing in your talent and skills.
You start working on more complex looks, you have to be very accurate and precise, but without all the crazy techniques you’ve seen on YouTube or Instagram that you’re so scared you haven’t actually learned yet.
How can you achieve great looks without knowing all there is to know in the makeup world? A great teacher by your side and your own trial and error game! You’ve never put glitter on? Nick is there to challenge you! Try it now. It falls all over the face? Clean it up. You don’t know how? Just try something and see what happens…
Do you know what happens?
MAGIC!!! These are the real learnings no one’s gonna be able to teach you. Both Nick and Narcisa create the perfect framework for you to work on; to try; to experiment!
Make-up is not science (most of the time:D)! It’s an art! You have to feel it! You have to do what and how you feel inside your heart! That’s the only way to go!
Techniques or no techniques, your talent, hard work and passion are inside you and only you can bring them to light. You have to learn about the smokey eyes, you have to know what a cat eye is or how to make blue eyes pop… but after that, after trying these looks a couple of times and after learning the general ‘terms and conditions’, it’s just you, your tools and the model!
Allow yourself to make mistakes! It’s more educational and helpful on the long run then you think! 😉 Mistakes are the ones that will help you get better and higher and stronger!
So here are some pics from what we call ‘The extension’:
I’ll stop here with the info on this class. Next week I’ll tell you the story of the Advanced Make-up Class… Stay tuned! 😉
PS: My baby and his band – FRIED FRIEND – launched their first music video today! We worked really hard to make it come to life and it’s been my background music for the past couple of months! I can’t believe we finally did it! Sorry it’s totally unrelated to this post, but I wanted to share it with you guys!
PPS: Yes! I’m the creepy girl in the video! :))
PPPS: I did my own make-up and hair! =))))) Yaaay… I found the connection with this post…
PPPPS: Check it out here, and please share if you like it! ♥ ♥ ♥
Oh… and Tweeter! 😀
Lots of love goes your way, from my little mice house to yours! :*
